The Sallie Barber Mine, operated from the 1880s into the 1940’s and was a significant gold and silver mine. The site now serves as an interpretive history trail, showcasing remnants of its operations, including its three levels, a steam plant, an air compressor, and a head frame with a visible mine shaft. The hike provides scenic views and historical context of Breckenridge’s gold rush era, which shaped the town founded in 1859.
