Historic Landscapes

Bill Fountain first considered writing a book of 25 historic towns of Summit County, from Hoosier Pass to the Ten Mile Range, and east to the headwaters of the north and south forks of the Swan.

The one book idea grew into a series of books using information taken from first-hand accounts, mining district logbooks, and newspapers, he tells the story of the more than 25 historic towns that supported the mining economy i n the greater Breckenridge area. Only Breckenridge, the focus o f this volume, survived.

With photographs in hand, Fountain traveled back in time, imagining what life would have been like in the late 1800s.
