Description

Chasing the Dream, Series – John A. Traylor arrived in Breckenridge in 1917 to begin chasing his dream of amassing the largest mining company in Colorado, if not the entire United States. From 1917 to 1930, The Royal Tiger Mines Company spent $2.7 million (more than $600 million in today’s dollars) in acquiring property, buying equipment, and paying operating expenses. Over 250 historic photographs, maps, and documents illustrate the complex story of Traylor and The Royal Tiger Mines Company and other major County mining operations, which left a still-visible imprint on the economic and environmental landscapes of Summit County.
