Historic Hike Series: Ethnobotany Hike in Summit County
Aug 18 @ 8:30 am - 12:30 pm
$25.00
Join us when we hike with Mark Rubash
Summit County Ethnobotany. This hike will focus on plants of the area and how they were used by those who came before us. We will look at (smell, feel and taste as well!) plant species and their uses as food and medicine; in addition, many plants were used for utilitarian purposes and some had special spiritual significance. The main focus is on the Native American peoples of past centuries, but Europeans also found some special uses. This will be an easy/moderate hike of about 3-4 miles with some elevation gain, depending on our particular route (1000 foot maximum).
Date: Tuesday August 18
Time: 8:30 AM to Noon
Location: Acorn Creek Trailhead, north of Silverthorne
Cost: $25.00 per person, Registration required
