A Field Trip Through Geologic Time in Summit County
(NOTE: This event was originally scheduled for June 24, 2025.)
Led by geologist, Sandy Gunow, this is a field trip (driving tour with points of interest), showing the distinctive features of the major rock formations in Summit County and detailing the evidence for chronological changes in landscape, life, and climate throughout the vastness of geologic time.
- Date: Monday, July 21, 2025
- Time: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM – full day driving tour
- Tickets: $25 for SHS & Blue River Watershed Group Members; $35 for Non-Members
- Location: Meet and end at Summit Historical Society, 403 LaBonte Street, Dillon, CO
- Reservations required by June 23 @ 6 PM
Extra Details: Bring water, snacks, and lunch. Be sure to have proper layered clothing, hiking footwear, sun protection, and insect repellent.
