The building was originally an Inn\, with rooms upstairs and a restaurant on the main level. The Inn was built near Farmers Korner on the old highway from Dillon to Breckenridge. It was then moved to the east end of Main Street in Frisco when the Dillon dam was built\, and then to the present location around 1974. \nThe back bar was built in Brunswick\, New York circa 1860 and transported to Denver\, and then by wagon to Black Hawk\, Colorado\, where it was once part of the Royal Flush Saloon. The bar was brought from Black Hawk in some thirty-odd pieces and reassembled here in the Blue Spruce Inn. (courtesy Summit Daily News\, 2016)

SUMMARY:History Talk: The 1873 Hayden Survey of Colorado
DESCRIPTION:photo courtesy: Library of Congress \nWednesday\, October 5th:  5:00 – 6:00pm – Lecture by Map Expert Chris Lane \nLocation:  Summit Historical Society’s 1883 Dillon Schoolhouse \nAfter the Civil War\, the U.S. government realized the great need for accurate surveys of the American\nWest. Between 1867 and 1879\, four great federal surveys were established\, covering much of the region\nwest of the 100th degree of longitude. One of these was the U.S. Geological and Geographical Survey of\nthe Territories\, run by Ferdinand V. Hayden. This included Hayden’s survey of Colorado between 1873\nto 1876. This was the first comprehensive survey of the territory\, which when finished made Colorado the\nbest mapped state in the Union\, a fact demonstrated in Hayden’s great Atlas of Colorado (1878). \n\nSpace is limited to 30 guests.  \n\nClick Here for Directions to Our 1883 Dillon Schoolhouse Museum
